These books would make a loving gift to anyone just stepping onto the path of enlightenment or if you would like some entertaining reading that will touch your heart and inspire you BOOK 1 * A GLIMPSE OF PARADISE AND THE TIME OF SEETA
Ronna Herman's newest book is the first of a trilogy, a series of six stories called Once Upon a New World. Ronna chooses to call these stories "metafiction," since although they are fiction, they are intertwined with a higher truth. The stories are based on glimpses and remembrances of some of Ronna's past lives, and partially, too, on some of her experiences during the present incarnation. No actual people or events are involved. The trilogy is about the journey (incarnations) of one SPARK of the God Force, and Its evolution through time and space. It is an adventure story of love, hope and inspiration. Readers will find that these stories give new meaning to why we are here on planet earth and where we are going. They teach, in simple language, the Universal Laws and higher truths that are so important to understand and apply masterfully during these times of great change. PROLOGUE Long ago, many aeons before time was measured, the great magnificent energy we call "God" stirred. The God Force breathed out and sent vast sparks of its consciousness exploding into space. And so, this universe began. The first and strongest sparks of energy were the archangels and guardians. Some of the smaller sparks were drawn to explore and inhabit the rich variety of life forms in the many galaxies, solar systems and planets available to them in the vastness of creation. On the outer edge of the Milky Way galaxy, a tiny, very special planet was chosen for a unique experiment, something that had never been tried before-an experiment of co-creation, love and total free will. Humankind would have dominion over all the Earth: the animals upon the land; the fowl in the air; and the fish and creatures of the sea. Those who were chosen to be a part of this experiment would have stored within their brain structure great mental capabilities and within their heart/soul a strong, loving emotional nature. These beautiful Beings of Light would create a physical form in order to experience the material world as co-creators with God and build a paradise world on a planet called Earth. It was a beautiful shining sphere with fresh gentle breezes blowing across its surface to cool and refresh the land and its inhabitants. It had great oceans and small crystal-clear lakes, fast-moving torrential rivers and slow meandering streams. There were giant craggy mountain peaks, mountains that undulated across the land, and a never-ending variety and shade of green foliage, with flowers in brilliant colors and a multitude of shapes to please the eye. There were large and small fishes swimming in the streams, lakes and oceans, as varied and plentiful as the blossoms in the fields. The feathered fowl displayed hues so sharp and bold they seemed to compete with the flowers. They were plumed and sleek, of such variety to be beyond imagination, and with the green foliage as a backdrop, they created exquisite splashes of color. And there were the animals, magnificent animals designed and formed by the creator angels, the greatest artists in the universe, from a blueprint given them by God. This paradise caught the attention of a great number of these sparks (souls), and when they heard what the experiment was to be about, they wanted to be a part of this daring plan. Some chose to stay in the dimensions above the sphere and become the Guardians of the Earth. While others felt a fascination and pull toward the material realm; they wished to experience all the wonders of this firm, physical world. This is the story of one small spark of the God Force and its journey and evolution through time and space. |
THE BEGINNING
Spark drifted above the Earth and saw it was beautiful, but the young soul wasn't quite sure if it wanted to stay in the dimension above or join those who would inhabit the world. Spark's consciousness delighted in the colors and firmness of the land, the gentle breezes and the tantalizing smells and sounds. He was enraptured by the freedom of being pure spirit, but also fascinated by the uniqueness and unlimited possibilities of the material realm. Spark became very brave and his* curiosity finally got the best of him, so he gently settled his consciousness in the body of a playful dolphin. The little spirit cavorted with the other dolphins, skimming across the water, leaping through the waves and high into the air in sheer joy, loving the feel of the cool water on his sleek body and marveling at the complex language of these wondrous creatures. But Spark soon tired of this playful existence and wanted to experience more.
Spark then attuned with the life force of a gigantic oak tree and felt the sturdiness of its branches as they reached toward the sky and drew nourishment from the soil and the sun. A brilliantly colored bird with intelligent eyes and a long curved beak rested in the branches of the tree; and Spark joined the bird in its soaring flight above the Earth and tasted the wonderful nectar it fed upon. But this, too, was not enough; Spark sensed that there was much more. Aeons later, Spark noticed some unusual beings in a lush peaceful garden. These creatures were smooth of skin and straight of limb. Long, silky hair flowed down their backs and tossed in the breeze. They moved in pairs; usually one was a bit larger than the other, and often walked with their arms *(Not really a male, but androgynous.) entwined, exuding great waves of loving energy. They walked on two feet and worked with their hands, using them to build many useful and marvelous things. They spoke, and the others of their kind understood. These humans were wondrous fair and pleasing to look upon.
Ah, thought Spark, these beings can surely help me learn about this world, so he merged his spirit with humankind. This was truly a grand experience and he lingered and lingered, until he could no longer withdraw his spirit on his own. Spark was trapped in the physical body until the time came when he had finally fulfilled his life span on Earth. Then, as he took his last breath, his Eternal Spark was released back into the astral dimension surrounding Earth, from whence it came.
The Spark slowly became aware of his surroundings on the astral plane. What an unusually lovely and serene place it was. Sitting on a bench a short distance away was an old man with white hair that glowed like a halo. The bench was situated beneath the most magnificent tree imaginable, its branches forming a thick canopy as the sun's brilliant rays filtered through its branches, shimmering like gold. A profusion of leaves sparkled like many-colored gems refracting the light, casting prisms of color on the ground.
The old man motioned for Spark to sit beside him, saying, "I am your Guardian and you are the nine hundred and ninety-fourth Spark in my care, but I will call you 'Little Spark' because you are so young and your flame of consciousness is still quite small. Now tell me, what have you learned in all your journeys, Little Spark?"
Spark thought for a moment and then replied, "I learned there are spirit and life in all creatures and objects-more in some and less in others. Their thoughts and ways of life are individual and varied, but all are good. I found when I was with humankind that I forgot from whence I came and felt confined, losing the feeling of being part of the universe and the God Force. I felt separate and alone much of the time. I looked to the others of my kind for love and fulfillment, but did not always find it. It was wonderful and strange, painful and delightful."
"Did you learn all there was to know in the Earth plane?" asked the Guardian.
"Oh, no!" exclaimed Spark. "There is so much more to experience. I think I have just begun to learn the lessons of the material world."
"Then do you wish to return to Earth until you have experienced all and learned the true meaning of life on the physical plane?"
"Yes, please, Guardian, if that is the quickest way for me to grow in wisdom and become as brilliant and shining as you."
"You have made the right choice, Little Spark. So be it."
Book One
Each set of the trilogy explores two incarnations of Spark. In Book One, Ronna introduces readers to Spark and his first lifetime. In this story, entitled "A Glimpse of Paradise," Spark experiences life as the privileged son of a king. In the second story, entitled "The Time of Seeta," Spark reincarnates as a female into a tribal life of struggle and strife.
1ST REMEMBRANCE - A GLIMPSE OF PARADISE
Long ago, in a magical golden age, there was a peaceful kingdom. Spark (a young soul) incarnates as a young prince, RAMDA 11. His mother, the gentle queen dies at his birth, and his aging father goes into deep mourning, neglecting the tiny prince and his kingdom. The little prince is loved and pampered by everyone in the castle until he becomes spoiled and totally self-centered. His faithful friend, Colten, is ever near, his protective and devoted companion. Ramey becomes more selfish and demanding as the years go by and constantly takes advantage of those around him, especially Colten. Colten falls in love and marries the beautiful Salene, and after seeing her, Ramey decides he cannot live without her. He devises a scheme whereby Colten must leave on a mission to a distant valley, giving him an opportunity to pursue Salene. But his selfish desire brings nothing but tragedy for them all. It is a tragic story, but becomes a legend, a shining example of true love, beauty and goodness that has survived throughout the ages. It is a story of greed and excess, and of love, loyalty and betrayal, both the good and negative sides of human nature.
2ND REMEMBRANCE - THE TIME OF SEETA
Spark's second incarnation takes place in the Ethiopian Highlands of Africa, as a native girl named Seeta. Her father becomes the chief of the peaceful, happy tribe. Seeta is destined to be the next Medicine Woman and begins learning the ancient art of healing at a very early age. She is preparing to marry her childhood sweetheart Tallan when she and a number of other young women are captured by a fierce, enemy tribe. The son of the chief takes Seeta as his mate, and soon falls in love with her. Gradually, Seeta begins to change the deplorable conditions in which the people live, beginning with the women and children. Seeta bears Tassa a son, but the baby is deformed (a clubbed foot). The medicine man wants to sacrifice him, but Tassa saves his life.. After his father's death, Tassa becomes chief, and together with Seeta, they bring peace and contentment to the Bandagas' tribe. A few years later, the Bandagas are also invaded by an enemy tribe.
Seeta, with her son, Navone and a number of other women and children escape, but it seems that all the rest of the tribe is either killed or captured. After a long, hazardous journey, Seeta and her little band make it back to her homeland, but not before Seeta is seriously wounded. She recovers and becomes the tribal medicine woman. Her childhood sweetheart tries to claim her as his wife, but she refuses for she finds that she truly loved Tassa and mourns him deeply. Seeta finds she is given another chance at love, but it requires a great sacrifice.
She must choose between her own happiness and the welfare of the tribe. It is a story of hardship, unselfish devotion and true love triumphant, overcoming great obstacles, and seeing the beauty in others, instead of the imperfections.
Book Two
Book Two of the trilogy continues Spark's journeys in stories entitled "Mystical Atlantis" and "The Warrior Maid."
3RD REMEMBRANCE - MYSTICAL ATLANTIS
In the first story, Spark is a young priest, assigned to the Temple of Science to help develop new uses for the giant crystals during the times just before the final sinking of the Continent of Atlantis. He falls under the influence of a few power hungry priests and officials, and unknowingly helps to create a slave army. When he sets out to rectify the wrong he has committed, he is imprisoned. With the help of the High Priestess, Exonna, his sister, Bellinda, and some of the mutants he has harmed, he escapes. In a secluded Island hideaway, he learns what is really important in life: love and respect for others.
4TH REMEMBRANCE - THE WARRIOR MAID
Spark's next incarnation is told in the second story of this book. It is 950 AD, in Scandinavia, in the time of the Vikings. As Lilliam Beemer, "Spark" suffers great conflict between her masculine and feminine nature. Her father is the Lord of a great castle and vast domain, and Lilliam has an overpowering love for both. She is torn between the desire to be like her father, a great warrior, and the love for her husband, Darven, and their children. She finally gains her dream, and realizes, too late, the price she must pay.
Book Three
In Book Three, Spark journeys forward again, in stories entitled "Reward and Reflection," and "Endings and Beginnings."
5TH REMEMBRANCE - REWARD AND REFLECTION
Reward and reflection begins as a gay tale, a reward life for Spark. Although Antonio (Spark) is born into a rich, loving family and has all he desires in life: freedom, love and adventure, he is not truly happy until he meets his soul mate, Shamay. Tony becomes the captain of his own sailing vessel, and after a long voyage, in the last port before reaching Lisbon, he is kidnaped and held for ransom. He manages to escape, but not before he is severely wounded and loses his memory. He is rescued and taken to a ranch where Shamay nurses him back to health.
They fall in love and share an idyllic life until tragedy strikes. Tony learns that life has no meaning without love, and he willingly makes a supreme sacrifice in order to save his younger brother's life. In the end, his greatest wish is to join his sweet Shamay.
6TH REMEMBRANCE - ENDINGS AND BEGINNINGS
The final story takes place during the great depression in a small, southern town in the U.S, It follows Laura's (Spark's) life from her humble beginnings through poverty and tragedy to success in the business world, loving relationships and creative accomplishments. She overcomes seemingly insurmountable odds: ignorance, bigotry, male dominance, jealousy, and hatred, to realize love and happiness. As a spiritual seeker of truth, she becomes an author, lecturer and spiritually-evolved human being, sharing her wisdom and insight with all those she meets. The Little Spark finally attains what he has sought on Earth for so many aeons of time: En-Lighten-ment.
How Once Upon a New World Came To Be
Ronna began the trilogy in the late 1980s after nudges by spirit that these stories were to be the first book she would write. She wrote Once Upon a New World before making her personal connection with Archangel Michael and writing On Wings of Light. The trilogy has been born out of a lengthy germination process.
In Ronna's book, On Wings of Light, she tells the story of how this book came to be. It was 1987 and Ronna began channeling the wisdom of a non-physical master teacher called TRI-TON. One day as she was gardening at home, TRI-TON spoke to her and said: "It is time for you to begin to write. You will write a book and it will be entitled Once Upon a New World.."
Ronna was in awe, while at the same time, questioning how such a feat would be accomplished. She had a corporate background, but did not think of herself as a "writer."
"I was somewhat taken aback (by TRI-TON's message to write the book), but having no idea what this book was to be about, and how I would accomplish such a task, I did not give it much thought for a few weeks. And then, suddenly, scenes began to come into my mind and I felt compelled to write them down."
The stories flowed out of Ronna as she sat at home in the evenings with a yellow legal size notepad. Since this was in the days before she had a computer, she then spent many laborious hours correcting and transcribing on her typewriter what she had written the night before.
During that same time period, Ronna began to write poetry. During a six-month period, 20 of them tumbled through her mind and she wrote them down. Several of Ronna's poems can be found on this site.
Poems from Once Upon a New World
THE WHY OF ME
Along the way I stop to see
If I can find the why of me
The "who am I" that's deep inside
The real me that tries to hide
But out I peek so you can glimpse
Now and again, just by chance
The curtain slips, defenses down
And for a moment, there I am
The who, the how, the why of me
To all but God, a mystery.
